Open Call for Student Photostories: Placemaking on Campus
This open call invites all Georgia Tech students to reflect on placemaking and the ways campus spaces influence their daily routines. Organizers are seeking photostories that highlight where students commute, pause, gather, recharge, or simply pass through — from major public spaces to overlooked “in-between” areas such as hallways, courtyards, and walkways.
Placemaking centers on shaping vibrant public spaces through shared experience. Through submitted images and narratives, students are encouraged to show how they interact with campus environments and how design impacts belonging, connection, and daily life. Submissions will help organizers better understand what students notice, value, and need in the spaces around them.
Selected photostories will be featured in a curated exhibition during Tech Arts Fest at the Ferst Center for the Arts Lobby. An opening reception will take place on April 13, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
