Art Night: A Celebration of Expression, History & Creativity
Join the John Lewis Student Leadership Pathways and the Center for Student Engagement on Wednesday, February 18, from 4:00–5:30 PM at Paper and Clay for Art Night: A Celebration of Expression, History & Creativity.
This interactive event features a curated art and poetry gallery, presented through a looping slideshow and accompanying visual and written displays highlighting influential artists whose work in painting, ceramics, poetry, and storytelling has shaped culture, identity, and community. Students are encouraged to explore the gallery at their own pace throughout the evening while engaging with the historical narratives behind the artwork.
In addition to the gallery experience, participants can take part in hands-on creative stations, including ceramics, pottery, and painting. Whether you are an experienced artist or simply curious to try something new, Art Night offers a welcoming space to explore self-expression and creativity.
The evening also includes open conversations on leadership through art, community, and connection, creating space for reflection on how creativity influences both personal and collective stories. Enjoy a calm, welcoming environment with free food, music, and materials provided.
