History
The Ferst Center for the Arts opened in 1992, named in memory of alumnus Robert H. Ferst. For more than 30 years, the venue has connected Georgia Tech with the broader Atlanta community through world-class programming, hosting renowned artists and thinkers including Wynton Marsalis, Maya Angelou, Yo-Yo Ma, and the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.
Today, that legacy continues through our evolving role as both a cultural anchor on campus and a platform for creative exploration. As part of Georgia Tech Arts, the Ferst Center advances innovation, collaboration, and student engagement through bold programming, new partnerships, and work that reflects Georgia Tech’s distinctive spirit and forward-thinking vision.
