Gabriel is a singer-songwriter, composer, and multi-instrumentalist who works at the blurred edges of journalism, ethnography, storytelling, and music. His music confounds easy categorization and spans many genres.

Based in Portland, OR, Kahane has established himself over the last decade as a distinct and penetrating voice in an array of cultural spaces. Stemming from a childhood dream, Kahane’s kismet was set in stone with his Off-Broadway debut of February House at the Public Theater in New York. As a multi-instrumentalist, his musicianship spans across a multitude of genres which delivers much pride as he merges vibrant musical communities. As a composer, Kahane has been commissioned by, among others, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, and Carnegie Hall.
