Terminus Modern Ballet Theatre: InterActions | Boundaries of Identity & A.I.
Georgia Tech Arts Skyline Series | Dance Preview and Conversation
Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at 7:00 p.m.
This performance is made possible in part through a generous grant from the Charles Loridans Foundation.
In what Georgia Tech Arts and Terminus Modern Ballet Theatre (TMBT) have dubbed the Grand Neuroethics Challenge, the two companies are bringing to life the fast-evolving and merging fields of neuroscience, technology, and A.I., and the ethical implications this may bring to our sense of identity and to society as a whole. Join New York City-based choreographer, dancer, and director Troy Schumacher (of TMBT’s Translation), in collaboration with leading scientists from Georgia Tech and Emory University, as he works with TMBT to explore the fascinating and consequential possibilities in the advancement of neuroscience.
InterActions brings forth the neuroethical questions at play with our audience, alongside a preview performance offering an exclusive sneak-peek into the creative process. The showing will be immediately followed by a panel discussion with the choreographer and some of the scientists who have contributed to his research. The full work by Terminus Modern Ballet Theatre will premiere during the Georgia Tech Arts 2021-2022 Series.
Troy Schumacher is a Georgia Tech Arts 2020-2021 Residency Artist.
